2045 Metropolitan Transportation Update:
The 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan dated October 9, 2019 for the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) is available for download as an Adobe Reader (.pdf) file. (This is a large file; approximately 11 MB) Approved by the MACORTS Policy Committe on October 9, 2019.
- UGA Section 5339 Award, Contract # T007105: The award is in the amount of $8,778,824 (federal: $7,462,000; local: $1,316,824) to be used to purchase electric buses in FY 2020.
- ACC Transit Section 5339: The amounts shown in FY 2020 (Contract # T006922) was changed from $2,825,000 to $1,500,000 (federal: $1,200,000; state: $150,000; local: $150,000).
Approved July 8, 2020 by the MACORTS Policy Committee to adopt the amendment.
- Amendments to the 2045 MTP to add the construction phase of SR 10 LP at Atlanta Highway interchange and the PE and ROW phases of SR 316 at Jimmie Daniel Road interchange to the MTP and remove the consturctions phases of the SR 10 LP at US 29 Interchange and the SR 316 Access Road, Phase I from the MTP. Approved by the MACORTS Policy committee on October 14, 2020.
Administrative Modification was applied to the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan to incorporate an amendment to the 2045 MTP and 21-24 TIP to add the scoping phase of the Watkinsville Truck Bypass. Approved by the MACORTS Policy committee on November 10, 2021.
TITLE VI PLAN
The Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) assures the Georgia Department of Transportation that no person shall on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, family or religious status, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. UPWP
The UPWP will guide transportation planning activities toward the goals and policies of the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) from July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022 budget cycle. This document is the annual budget of MACORTS and was updated with the amendment to the FY22 UPWP to Transit/Paratransit Plannning Element 4.2 using Section 5307 funds by the Policy Committee on May 12, 2021.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION STUDY
Public Transportation Study for the MACORTS Region The purpose of this study is to evaluate the options available to provide public transportation service within the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study (MACORTS) region. Limited English Proficiency Plan for MACORTS and the Athens Transit System /Plan de Dominio Limitado del Ingles This document examines the needs of the limited English proficient population and how MACORTS and the Athens Transit System serve that population. This document was approved by the Policy Committee on May 12, 2021.
OBLIGATED LIST OF FEDERALLY FUNDED PROJECTS
The Annual List of Obligated Projects Report lists all transportation projects in the Madison Athens-Clarke Oconee Transportation Study (MACORTS) planning area to which funds were obligated during each federal fiscal year. Obligation is defined as the Federal government’s legal commitment to pay the Federal share of a project’s cost. An obligated project is one that has been authorized by the federal agency and funds have been obligated.
